I'm pleased to welcome the new members of the software design
group.
About EdSoft
EdSoft is a young company that prides itself on
attracting the best and brightest talent in the enterprise software
industry for the education market. We hire talented programmers
and allow them to work independently in order to contribute to
team goals. We are ever expanding our line of software
products and constantly improving our existing titles to provide
the academic community with the best possible tools to free teachers
for effective teaching.
EdSoft has taken advantage of the rapid technical progress in
personal computing, adding color, seating charts, attendance,
web posting, email, export and import capability, and many other
features to products. As computing advances, we will continue
to add improvements which make teachers' lives easier. We
plan to accelerate innovation and offer customers superior solutions
at a lower price.
EdSoft was founded in 2002 by college faculty who wrote programs
to meet the needs of their own classrooms. The company
has been profitable since 2005. EdSoft products are currently
in use by over 15,000 teachers. Through the explosive market
growth, we have been able to maintain a close relationship with
customers and are able to provide unparalleled service while
delivering superior quality products. Many of EdSoft's
most popular product features have been suggested by teachers
in the field.
Our Goals
Our primary goals are to:
- Improve Teachers' Quality of Life
Teachers should be able to do less clerical work, freeing time
to be more effective in the classroom, and spend a little
less time working over the weekend.
- Help Schools Function Better
Schools should have high-tech information infrastructure to

Provide High-Quality Products at a Fair Price
The company should modestly profit while delivering value to its customers. A
healthy company can continue to serve customers constantly improving its products.
Before your begin
Before you begin work, visit the Orientation to
learn how to succeed here at EdSoft. You will be working in individual projects
and in teams throughout your time here at EdSoft, so take the time to learn
how to do it the right way-- the EdSoft Way.
- Explore Working with Tasks to better understand
why and how we define and solve problems using tasks.
- Work your way through the information in Working
in Teams to get your team off to a better start.
- New materials is added to the Orientation section
as needed so plan to check back regularly.
Your manager will assign specific Tasks & Assignments for
you or yourr teams to complete. Follow the task link on the left
to discover the details of the tasks. Be certain to review the
the Requirements section
for each task or subtask before you embark on your solution.
Our new corporate librarian has gathered Resources for
you to reference as you complete the Tasks assigned.
If you have suggestions for additional resources, please email
them to your manager for consideration.
After you have completed each task, review Debrief questions
to confirm your learning and understanding of the task.
