Water Quality Research |
Good work on the air quality research! Let’s do something as effective for water quality. Please identify a community meeting such as a city council meeting, water board meeting, conference, or event on water quality or water quantity issues – and attend. Find out what is happening around water quality and quantity in the area – and report on it.
Ideas I’ve had, but haven’t had time to investigate: Is the city addressing future water needs? Are there solutions/plans in place to address these issues? Are there non-profit organizations or governmental groups working toward water preservation, conservation, or reclamation? Where does your water come from? Is the local Water District doing anything toward positive solutions? Are there pollution prevention programs? How does water quality affect human health?
Your analysis – and even your opinion will be extremely useful to us later. Thanks for your work!
Deliverables:
- Documentation on the meeting or event including title, location, date, etc.
- One page of notes – information and facts in your words or properly cited.
- One page written summary in your own words.
- One paragraph summary on how this info relates to you, your family, and society. What did you learn?
Remember - if this is the topic your team will present as an oral
report, complete the requirements in the Advocacy:
Air, Water, &
Food Tasks & Assignments instead of the written report.
