Second Deliverable |
Good job on the requirements for our Auto Repair Records System. If we build to these specifications, I know the product will be useful to Dermico Auto.
For the meeting next week, you need to fully implement Use Case #1, to get the data into a file. Remember that the user interface doesn't have to be real pretty because we'll put the graphic designers on the job of beautifying the layouts of the windows later. But it does need to be a GUI! And you need to make sure all required fields are available for input.
Because this is a "proof of concept" deliverable, you have to fully test all your code. Most importantly, you have to prove that the data the user typed in is saved to a file.
When you implement this first use case, you can email me with all of your source code attached. It
is imperative that you cc every team member and also attach proof
that it works. This would mean a screen shot of the data entry screen and a screen shot of whatever you used to test that the data got saved in a file.
Please be prepared for a 10 minute presentation, if you’ve been asked for a code review.
Examine your data entry code to see that it doesn’t mention the data persistence method.
We may have an outside guest in one or more of the code reviews—this expertise should help to move us forward.
Again, please post questions to the Discussion area at our website.
